Music instruments

Experienced, high-achieving, passionate and personable tutor. Currently on the music staff at Eltham College. I have privately tutored hundreds of students from beginners to degree level and from the very young to mature for over ten years. Very limited spaces left. Tuition offered (in no particular order): - Piano tuition - Composition tuition - Music theory - GCSE, A-level, foundation degree and bachelor degree tuition - Music appreciation Piano tuition is usually taught one-to-one and often follows the graded examination path but can take a less exam focussed route. As well as the ABRSM syllabus my students cover many other aspects of piano playing including; playing a wide repertoire, improvisation and other piano-related issues. Please note that piano grades 6-8 are worth UCAS points. Theory is generally taught in groups with students of a similar level; almost all my students attend theory classes as well as instrumental lessons to boost progress, knowledge and understanding. Studies follow the ABRSM grades and various other musical aspects to create a well-rounded education, including; listening, analysis, debating, history of music, composition and other areas. Theory can be taught one-to-one if desired and I currently have two theory groups. Please note that theory grades 6-8 are worth UCAS points. GCSE, A-level, foundation degree and bachelor degree tuition in support of studies at school/university. My qualifications include a Masters Degree from the Royal Academy of Music and a Bachelor Degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I have also been awarded a LRAM Teaching Diploma and possess an enhanced CRB check. As well as teaching, I work professionally with leading European orchestras and musicians, have appeared on CDs and DVDs (Sony Records, Signum Classics and MFY), and have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and S4C TV. At the time of writing, forthcoming performances include the University College of London Chamber Orchestra, Oltenia State Symphony Orchestra (Romania), Monmouth Festival (Wales) and the Tonkuenstler Orchestra (Austria).
